Exterity launched its new Transcoder at IBC 2011 in Amsterdam.
This AvediaStream device offers dual-channel transcoding for
a multitude of applications such as:
Converting HD services to SD for legacy display equipment
Delivering low bit rate streams to remote sites on your corporate
WAN
Enabling old low performance PC’s to view the same content
as newer ones
Producing multiple bit-rate streams for adaptive streaming.
New Computer Desktop IPTV Players and Plugins
The latest AvediaServers from Exterity now host the AvediaPlayer
Desktop module that offers web browser viewing of IPTV
channels from PC and Mac computers. Special IPTV Player applications
are no longer needed.
Deploying AvediaPlayer Desktop means that users can login
to view IPTV channels from any PC or Mac on the network without
any need for special IPTV player software on the computers.
Any necessary codecs are automatically downloaded from AvediaServer,
so that all the user sees is the IPTV channel. The latest
version now supports pause of live TV too! The
new AvediaPlayer Plugin integrates with a wide variety
of digital signage devices and other dedicated application
platforms to display HD TV and video content. This allows
organisations to implement and customise engaging digital
signage to distribute information and advertise products and
services. The
new AvediaPlayer Viewer enables delivery of live HD
TV and video streams via PC desktop applications including
Windows Media Player and Microsoft Office, allowing organisations
to incorporate video and live TV into applications such as
PowerPoint and Outlook across their entire network.
